air filter
so i put an air filter on instead of running it open carb, and i was wondering if i have to oil the filter first. idk i'm running it as is right now. its the uni dual stage filter. the one with the red outside and the black inside. let me know if i need to oil the filter, and if so what kind of oil i should use.
Re: air filter
get the k&n oil spray and spray a light coat on the filter.its to trap the real small dust.
Nothing like getting stroked!

Re: air filter
Honda recommends 80-90w gear lube for their foam filters IIRC, uni recommends their own oil, I use 30 weight non detergent lawnmower oil on everything.

Re: air filter
so you can put motor oil on it?
Re: air filter
Yes but it has to be that weight
Re: air filter
I don't know how essential the type oil is to a scooter, but on my mowers, I saturate with whatever motor oil is handy, usually 10W40 and then squeeze it out. Whole idea is to compromise between sponge filter and the old oil bath. Anybody remember them?

Re: air filter
Any motor oil will do, the thicker the better. I have even used 2 stroke oil. Just get it soaked and squeeze it out, then squeeze it in a rag to get more out.
