I took it to a shop, and they said that the scratches would rip the new ring to bits.

They want $80 canadian to bore and for a new piston.

But then, I guess the old size rings won't work, eh? So who do I get new rings from -- honda or some third party?

Someone said that scootertherapy has original cylinders for $25. I've emailed them for a quote.
see told u, putting ur brand new rings in a scratched cylinder would destroy them.

and yes scooter therapy is best option imo, assuming they have a spare spree cylinder. you won't have to spend more on rings.
projects galore :nerd:

$80 CDN? That doesn't sound bad. The piston should come with new rings. And no, the old rings won't work. Why would you reuse them, anyway?

Make sure to buy new circlips when you do this; shop may supply these too.
