ok spree gurus, i just changed my scoots plug, injector oil, i got spector 2t injector oil(out of the honda stuff but was reassured it was the same if not a little better) and i also changed me trans oil(3oz? really) anywho. when the manual says flow what type of flow are we talking about? it flows but real slow is this right? i followed the bleed procedure got plenty of oil going to pump. but coming out is real slow. normal or not.? :?: :?
Edit: also if i use mixed gas(out of unmixed)will i get excessive smoke if injector is working?

First of all, I want to respond to a post way back that fell through the cracks.
has anyone tried the E3 diamond fire? i seen where they put it in a sb chevy 350 on horsepower tv and got better top end better hp and less emission
First of all, a lot of those TV shows are little more than paid commercials. Secondly, just because a plug performs better in an auto engine, does not necessarily mean it will do well in small engines. Wheelman makes a good point on Honda's recommendation for NKG.

I think you may have jumped subjects, so I'll guess at what you are saying.

1. Transmission oil, back by the rear axle. That will be motor oil and should pour like motor oil. I don't find it readily but I believe it should be 10w-40w. Some people use nondetergent 30 but I see no reason as 10w-40w is usually handy in the average homeowner's garage.
2. "i followed the bleed procedure got plenty of oil going to pump." I assume now you're talking injection oil. That oil is pretty thin but also goes through a pretty small tube, so it may not come out fast. I suspect though, that you've got some old oil that did need flushing. Another reason for quality oil.
3. If you use premixed gas, and the injection pump is functioning properly, you will probably get a little smoke. Nothing to worry about, except higher risk of fouling the plug. Some of us are old enough to predate 1/50 mix when poor oil quality demanded 1/20.

the trans oil is good used 10w-40 easy to find here. yes i was talking about the injector oil. it had the blue stuff in it dont know what kind but it was blue.(got scoot for free and oil tank was full) any way after reading all the things you spree gurus have posted i decided to change it. and it just seemed slow but not having any experience with this type a pump thought i would ask. and i cant get ngk here well i can but has to be ordered and plug was bad so i got an autolite which someone else recommemed and said they have had no trouble with. cross checked with ngk came up with 4123 autolite. as for the E3 i just wondered if anybody tried it. sorry i was kinda jumping around i was thinking faster then i could type.

odinxxix,
If you've still got some of the oil you drained out, check the viscosity. Don't get scientific, just check to see how thick it is. It may be been coming out slow because of the small tube, but what does it look like in the drain pan?

You'll be okay with the Autolite. But if your parts house is willing to order NGK for you, do it so you'll have a back up or two. You're in this for the long haul, I can tell, so two won't be wasted. And all Honda 2 strokers use the #6 for all purpose driving, and you'll be wanting another one before long.

yea i think i will order some extra, yes i am in it for the long haul i love my scoot not only is it fun to ride but great for trips to the store so i do have to fire up the v8 all the time. anyway it was kinda thick and blue my neghbor said it looked like the oil he uses to put in his boat, and the same color of oil i use for my weed eater and my chain saw so im guessing it was regular 2 stroke oil. from what ive read im glad i changed it and didnt really run it that much with the wrong oil.
Edit: just wondering if i should use another tank of mixed just incase i didnt get all the air out if any was in there you know until it works the rest of the air out.

Since you didn't know what it was, changing was a good thing. Now you know for sure. Nothing wrong with boat motor oil as it is mostly premix anymore, and differs only in being biogradeable to protect the fishes. I guess color is all same.

Go ahead and run premix for a tank. It won't hurt it. Watch your oil tank level. If it goes down, you know pump is working and no airlock. Then you can go back to regular gas with confidence that the system is working.

Hey Eliteguy, I like this. Kinda like fishing. Let the fish take the bait, set the hook and reel him in. You're dead on about nurturing the noobs. We can discourage them or set the hook. That's POWER.

bradthreee wrote:I heard Royal purple makes 2 stroke injector oil, but it was like $12 a bottle in my neck of the woods. How's that stuff working out for you? RP is what I run in my Honda Fit and I love it!
so far, so good: 1200-1500miles the last two summers, working on the same for this year. (i can only ride 5 months out of the year, then your eyes start to not only water, but the tears freeze on 'yer face...) and yeah, it's expensive, but i'd have to drive at least a half hour one way (in my truck) to get honda oil  . RP is cheaper with gas figured in.
