Sick Little Scoot -> * gas on the ground
To start with, an update on my sick little scoot:
I've ordered another engine off eBay that should solve my compression and starter problems. It should get here tomorrow.
On to the next issue:
When there is fuel in the gas tank, it drips out of a little hole in the side of the carb.
I took the hoses off the carb, and fuel drips out of the top hose all the time.
Obviously, there is a problem with my fuel petcock -- it's jammed open. Hopefully I'll fix or replace it soon.
Is there also neccesarily a problem with my carb, or will the fuel dripping cease when the motor is running?
Thanks,
Tyler

Your float valve isn't working. Clean carb and inspect float valve, may need a replacement. Dealer part.

yeh it should. if fuel is getting to the carb, then it can still get mixed. I do however recommend that u replace ur petcock if you still have the stock one.twsnagel wrote:Will the scooter still work if the fuel petcock is jammed open?
Will the carb continue to pour gas out on the ground if the float is operating correctly?
projects galore

Just follow the service manual. Pretty straightforward.
