Slow Acceleration, other problems

Post by jeffhardyrules »

Well I have no power or torque until I hit about 15mph and then it works fine(top speed of 32 mph) and if I have to turn and go 15 mph or slower the blinkers won't blink and just stay lit up. Would it be something with the piston?(because of the low power) Also it won't idle(it is either set to low or too high) I have put on about 75 miles+ since getting it to run better and I decided to check the spark plug which was a reddish brown, so I believe that is another problem. Thanks in advance, yet again.

Actually the spark plug is fine. Under one of the links in the forum I found the color of my spark plug and it said it was "good" so that is good

Are you running the stock airbox, or a pod?

my moped kinda does the same thing with power but a bit different . mine works totally fine but after its been runnin for like 10-20 minutes it loses almost all power in the 0-15 range and takes forever to accelerate, but once its up to speed runs great.

well i dont know if its compression or what cause it still revvs pretty good it just doesnt go (it revvs a litle lower than normal but not substansially).i think it may be a transmission slippage problem.

compression would still allow it to go the same speed, just lack power when warm. is it hard to start again when hot?if so its compression.

if not then it could be belt/clutch.

belt could be expanding/slipping
clutch could be fading (like brakes can when hot)
