Re: motor swap
Can you weld sheet metal at a professional level?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Because to do this swap properly a fair bit of fabrication and welding/cutting/grinding will be required. If you don't feel confident in your welding skills you may be better off either having someone else do the work for/with you or writing off the whole idea.

Re: motor swap
Hi,
Oddly, the Aero 80 has not come up too often. A member and I were asking the same question - Aero 80 swaps earlier this summer, with no replies. How does it look in general for fitting up to the Spree frame?

Re: motor swap
One way to start is to put your bike perfectly upright without the stock motor. Hold new motor in it and then clamp the sides of the wheels on two long pieces of angle iron. It will let you get an idea where it might fit. Perhaps either your 80 or 50cc motormount might be adapted. I fit a later model 2 stroke in my 50. Welding is a basic skill that you need to have.
Step one would be to see where the drive unit will go with room for the exhaust system. Isn't a 80 four stroke taller than a 50 two stroke?

Re: motor swap
thanks for sharing your results! After my 14 year old gets done brutalizing the spree I may do a swap of some sort.
Re: motor swap
On the left side there is a radiator making me think liquid cooled and on the right side there is a plastic shroud making it look like it is air cooled. I'm confused? I am sure you will get more than 42 once it is tuned.

Re: motor swap
there is no radiator ... and i hope after a good tune it should be a lil better. once i find parts to hop up the clutch ill be good to go ... right now it will do wheelies and wicked burnouts ... and haul butt, thats about all its good for ... AND I LOVE IT next up im going to mount a 2 up seat the plastic (cut to fit) and of course mods hope you all try this swap it really wasnt that hard.
