exhaust port cleaning
Any good way to scrub down the exhaust port with the engine still in the frame?
Re: exhaust port cleaning
Why don't you want to take the engine off? If you have the exhaust off, it is just another two bolts, the tire and the brake line to have it off. Seems to me like that would be easier than trying to finagle your way to the exhaust port with the engine still on.
Re: exhaust port cleaning
why not just take off the engine shroud and remove the jug??
in three years, my engine has never departed from it's mount. my jug has been off numerous times.
the upper shock mount needs pulled to get to the shroud bolt behind the carb, and other than that you only need an 8mm and 10mm socket and a short extension. that's one of my favorite things about the spree; i could rebuild it along side the road if need be with three or four sockets, a ratchet, a short extension, a crecent wrench, and of course, spare parts (the only thing on the list i don't carry
)
and that's WAY easier than removing and re-installing the whole engine, which you would have to remove all the same parts off of in order to properly clean out the port anyways.
