Re: starters
The Spree starter mounting plate is different than all SA50 and Aero models. Early Aeros are much different. SB50 has a stamped steel mounting plate.
I'd stick with the Spree starter. Internal parts exchange is possible with some, but the Spree is the common and low cost starter.

Well it might be common but if you can can find a honda shop that has one they list for over 150$ is there a better source? e- bay has a limited # ever posted and there's no way to really know if its a pos.

Sorry - was thinking on the used side for 'common'. And with that comes the occasional bad one - I have experience with that too..Well it might be common but if you can can find a honda shop that has one they list for over 150$ is there a better source? e- bay has a limited # ever posted and there's no way to really know if its a pos.
Anyone else tried looking at other scooters and small cycles for a Mitsuba starter equivalent? I spent some time looking at various Japanese scooters, cycles and ATV's for equivalents. Only starters found are the knock offs for the 88-93 SA50 on eBay.
