elite sr help

i am buying a honda elite sr tomorrow cheap the lady i am buying it from does'nt know anything about it where can i look to find out what year model is it also she said it just stoped working one day. so i was going to ask everyone what would be some of the first things you would check to see whats wronge i am hoping its something easy but for 25.00 i cant pass up the scooter

There is a sticker on the frame under the plastic. It has the year and vin, perhaps model as well?

First check for spark. Take out the plug and hook spark plug wire to the end of it. Hold the electrode of the plug against metal part of engine. Have some one kick it over or try electric start. See if you see a spark by the tip of the plug.
If you have spark then verify whether gas is flowing to the carburetor. If old gas is still in the tank then you will most likely have to clean out the carb. I would do it anyway regardless.
If the engine does not turn over and is locked up then you have internal engine problems. Clean the carb and verify spark and then go from there.

$25 for an Elite SR?! That sounds like a killer deal to me~! and yep, it's probably something simple like spark plug bad, sprak plug wire came off, carb stopped up, etc. even if it is locked up, for $25 its a DEAL.

as far as i can tell its not locked up pulled the carb and am in the process of cleaning it the plug wire the boot was missing and u can see where they had the plug wire cramed over the end of the plug
