Got new Petcock, question

Post by the496rocket »

I just got my petcock from bikebandit today, my old one was stuck open. My question is, that after I installed the new one and brand new air filter, it is running lean. It is not a problem because I can move the needle, but I am wondering what caused this? I dont think it would be the petcock would it? could it be that I over-oiled my old filter and the new one (pre-oiled) is less restrictive?

I have drilled about 8 holes in the airbox because I have the 70cc kit and #95 jet so I needed more air to add to the fuel. All I changed is the petcock and new airfilter and it is running lean. It had it good before with the holes in the box, it just changed. I think it is the air filter letting in more air than the old one

So far I have had the aero 50 up to 45mph on flat ground, but I havent opened up the throttle all the way cause I need to break it in. Cant wait to see how fast itll go. My mods so far are the 70cc kit, speed variator, #95 jet, 10 1/4 in holes in airbox, Intake manifold and double ports below reeds de-burred and opened up a lot. That is it for now. I bought 8:1 gear ratios (12:1 stock) and stiffer clutch springs and they are on the way. Cant wait to see how fast it will go with the gearing! Maddog said His aero went 65 with this exact setup! Dont know If I want to go that fast though, sounds dangerous 8O. I also plan on getting a 19mm carb soon.
