Greetings:
Just getting around to catching up. Crow can be a delicacy, however in my case undeserved. I never once claimed the AF16 so-called Dio was not a great engine. Nor have I ever advised anyone to "sell a Dio". It's just that I didn't have one lying around and nobody cared to donate one. I got the SE/05 going fast enough for my goals, but its available practical limits had been reached. Time for the next challenge.
With rear-mounted Pirelli on the Met tubeless rim and stock 3.00 front, the centerstand still works, but it'll need extension if/when the front Pirelli goes on. So far the only mods that show are the tire and the instrumentation:
Ruima gears at 9:1 can be felt on 0-5 take-off, then the variator, uhhh... variates. No decrease in midrange acceleration, and the Polini clutch can be adjusted up in RPM for lustier launches, which be my next step.
UNI filter ordered by Deepinnaharta Honda for $16. Will be here tomorrow (next day) and no shipping charges. I found one online for $14 but another $14 for UPS Ground! That and an 82 jet go on manana.
Later this week I should receive the V8 28mm pipe and the Nicasil bore kit from Patrick. I'll need to get drills from HF to carve the stock 78 into a 105 or so, then watch temps and plug carefully. Wish me luck! See Scooter Build for the gory details.

What kind of top speed are you getting so far with the 9:1 and the varaitor? What weight rollers do ya have in there?
Those are pretty much the mods that I wanna do to mine and I should be happy for a little while. I actually just put the variator in yesterday with 9g rollers and I can't tell much of a difference. I know I need a new belt though.
THANKS!

GPS said 44.9 the other night on an abortive run. All-stock engine power so far, should be good for 45-46 with gears alone, albeit with a long spell from 40-45. More power will cure that, heh-heh.

Peak RPM was a smidge over 7400.

You guys are making my head hurt with this "NICASIL" stuff. The correct term is Nikisal.

And he's an expert on the matter?
BTW, where is Deepinnaharta? I've searched Google, Mapquest and every thing I can and can't find it. I can't even find the song which I've heard a zillion times through the years. Yeah, I'm country to the bone.

Well, at least I finally found the song. And it was Gene Autry made it famous
The stars at night, are big and bright,
deep in the heart of Texas,
The prairie sky is wide and high,
deep in the heart of Texas.
The sage in bloom is like perfume,
deep in the heart of Texas,
Reminds me of, the one I love,
deep in the heart of Texas.
The coyotes wail, along the trail,
deep in the heart of Texas,
The rabbits rush, around the brush,
deep in the heart of Texas.
The cowboys cry, "Ki-yip-pee-yi,"
deep in the heart of Texas,
The dogies bawl, and bawl and bawl,
deep in the heart of Texas.
In reality, it's BRADY

And it'll be extry-tasty by the time it navigates the route out ther to Kal-a-for-NYE-aye. Spacially sitting in the USPS warehouse in Deepinnaharta, where we are on our 52nd consecutive day of temps above 100 and little/no rain. Don't believe me? How'dja think Burnt_Toast got his name? Ax him.
PMed about the jets.

SA is hot but worst sunburn I ever got was in Corpus at Padre Island. Went to a conference 3 days later and old friends and fellow alumni that greeted me wanted to give me a hug and SLAP me on the back.
Who did you intend to PM? Me or Brad3. I got one and answered.
