I have always stated to NOT use 2 cycle oil made for Chainsaws,Boat motors, Weed Whackers etc. which would be a pre-mix oil. Only use oil stated for Injection type systems. Not just any type 2 cycle oil will do. You have to read the label. Yes your engine will run with the other type oil but it is not good for it, and will cause excess carbon buildup on the piston and exhaust port. Did you ever hear of decarbonizing the cylinder head and piston? Using the wrong type of oil will increase the severity of this carbon and in turn cause engine trouble or failure.
I will buy the boat motor oil because marine engines run cooler than air cooled engines and their oil is rated TCW-I, II, III or IV, but chainsaws and weed eater are air cooled, in fact they run hotter than the scooters because of poorer air flow over the engine, also usually chainsaws and weed eaters are not oil injected. But I wonder why so many of you guys think that an oil can only be formulated to be either premixed or injected? When in fact, all injected oils work just fine as premix and in most cases regular 2 stroke oils will work fine in injected engines.

Nothing wrong with Amsoil. However, I never ran it at the ratios they said though. I used the same mix as everybody elses oil.

It smells the way it does because it is a synthetic and has no dino oil in it.

You need a 2 stroke injector oil designed for air cooled engines.

Ande almost all 2 stroke oils produced today fit that definition.

I've been having good luck so far with Repsol Synthetic blend at 32:1. Pretty cheap at 8 bucks for a liter and a half (I think) too.

This topic should be closed. Everyone's Responce's here would work but some better than others it's the riders choice on what he uses but the suggestions point him in the right direction.. Plus the topic was "What type of oil to use?" Not What are you oponions on Oil brands and makes... Just answer the question at hand and be done with it... And move to the next person who needs help.
Best Regards, Cameron. Have a good day!
