I run regular because that's what the Honda engineers wrote down in the manual.

Here's the deal, if you can't feel the difference then you should start walking

I bet if you dyno'd the same scoot running the two different fuels you would not see much of a difference at all. We are not talking high-compression, high-performance machines here.

Now we get to the real test. Do some comprehensive tests. Dyno, top speed, time on the drag strip, etc.

Almost every pump here contains ethanol. However gas pumps at the boat harbors carry ethanol free gas, because the boats have so much problems with this horrible new gas. So although only 1 station carries it, I make sure I got out of my way to fill up a 5gal there. I keep that at home and premix as needed. I use it for my dirtbikes too so I doesn't ever sit for long.

All our local Chevron stations are serviced by a local oil company and none of their fuels contain ethanol, so it may pay to make some calls and shop around.

I have a customer's scooter chained on the porch which had a horrible death by E85 Ethanol "flexfuel".

You do the math on the damage, it's okay with me. I'm getting $120 to rebuild it plus the cost of parts...

Around here there are 2 Exxons that carry 89 ethanol free fuel. This is all i use in my Elite 150, so its all that will go into my Spree once i get it going.

run 92 because of the high compression ratio.

I doubt you would ever get enough compression on a 50, even with bbk, to utilize 92 octane. Just stay away from ethanol, if at all possible. We're on a downhill slide on that topic. Left wing Government seems intent on cramming it down our throats.

It gets pretty hot in the summer here. When the temperatures go above 105, I run 89 octane in my XC180. The bike runs poorly over half-throttle if I dont. If the temp tops 110, I go to 91 octane.

My CH80 Elite doesn't seem to mind the temps as much, but I'll change up to 89 octane when the temps top 110 and I'll be riding more than 20 miles at a time. I do this based on a 40 mile ride on a 112 day where the poor engine was struggling to make power.

My P200E doesn't seem to be terribly bothered by the temperature. No fuel changes.
