No Mr. Burnt_Toast is a well-respected Forum Moderator who has been helping people on this site - including myself - since Nixon was president. I happen to support with him on this issue after re-reading the Forum Guidelines for profanity. He will not threaten, he will warn. If warnings are repeatedly ignored you may find yourself unable to post at all. I value everyone's input (and humor) here and hope that doesn't have to happen.

Allow me this suggesion: Sometimes well-chosen non-vulgar words can have a bigger impact than all the F-Bombs you can type.

I think they come up during registration and you have to click the abide by box...basically it is common sense like this is an internet forum that can be viewed by anybody of any age with internet access... I remember reading them in detail but here is a brief: http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... =1&t=10517

I know this was used as an example but I just got hung up on trying to understand this one (especially coming from a member whos location is posted as "your mothers bed"):

I doubt there are many virgin ears, nor naive people in the forum, but there are quite a few who don't care to be subjected to vulgarity in a public forum. Also there are women and children who visit the forum, as well as children watching over the shoulder of their parent or grandparent. There is never a place of vulgarity. That rule applied 50 years ago, and it still applies. 2009 does not change that. This forum is about scooters, not who can be the most vulgar.

BTW, your "Location: your mothers bed", is very offensive. If that were to be applied to me, your location would be in the cemetary.

Boy this thread just becomes worse and worse!

I was pumped about a place that Noiseguy could see to maybe if possible improve a really great and one of my favorite forums.

The general idea of a suggestion box became something completely different.

Now it's the preaching, power hungry, ignorant, vulgar box all in one.

I'm done reading this stupidity!

I agree, but the first time I read this thread, I thought it was suggesting that a suggestion box be created.

First post was a bit confusing. Thread title was "Suggestion Box", but the post inserted desire for instant message service. I'm all for a suggestion box, but since we have a mailbox, don't see need for instant message.

I highly think that it is unlikely that one can read if one cannot write properly. Also common sense is something that one aquires with experience and learning, both things that it seems that the OP lacks.

When I saw the location being "in your mothers bed" quite frankly I was offended. Say what you want about someone but once you put something stupid like that about someone's mother then chances are you wont be the most popular kid on the forum.

My suggestion is to change your location and change your attitude. Forget what has happened and start over fresh and the devil avatar is not helping either...

Mmm. Chat boards have been set up here a couple of times and have never thrived. If you want to chat, put your AOL / favorite chat ID on your profile and set up a time. This board can't add any chat functionality that would be meaningful.

Since someone asked, here are the forum rules:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10517

Redrocket, let me explain to you how the warning system works. Obscene rants are not tolerated on the board. You've been warned. My moderators are here to keep an eye on things and can hand out warnings for abusive behavior as well. Rack up enough warnings and I suspend your account for awhile.
