god only knows how many kms are on my scooter it was in pretty rough condition when i got it and the motor was well worn out we shall see if it makes the noise when i fit the taz gears hopefully b here soon my push off is because i fitted the new exhaust which im still cutting and welding to get it right its getting better ive also got a new clutch with 1.5k springs and a stiffer centre spring which turned up to day ill fit it when the taz gears turn up that should help my take off as well

i'm the other guy with the whirling gear sound after taz's gear swap. my spree only has 3000 miles on it and before the swap there was no sound at all from the gearbox. hey, what year of spree do you have odinxxix? mine's an 87. it could be a year thing. also, were you able to salvage the gasket, did you use silicone, or did you put silicone on your leftover broken gasket?
i put silicone on my gasket, could that cause too much spacing?

ive had mine apart a couple of time now i just put a bit of sealer on the old gasket it didnt make any difference to the sound of the gears honda NZ still has the gasket in stock its $6nzd ill be putting a new gasket on when the taz gears turn up

Honda has not discontinued the transmission cover gasket. Part 21395-GK8-306 is available, should be about $3.
