got a bit of the rust off using a wire brush. short of a grinder, anyone have a good way to remove rust? there's a bit on the head and parts of the transmission.
also, the nut holding on the rear wheel is huge, even the tire iron from my volvo isnt big enough to get it off.

well, i got the front pulley off(mostly) and had my first look at a variator. i opened it up and saw this
D D D D D D <--those are roller weights.

sweet eh?

i'm still having trouble w/ some other stuff, but i got the wheel spinning and a good deal of rust removed. all thats left to do is get the rusty cogged gear off(its rusted on) and then electrolytically remove all that rust.

lol, ya but main thing there is, motor with the puller attached to it is WAY to clean in order for it to work on your motor! i'd say you did ok! lol

On another note, as far as tools, Good call on buying some non china tools.. buy yourself some GOOD 6 point sockets. When it comes to rusted up bolts/nuts, never use a 12 point socket..you'll end up rounding that puppy off and then you'll have to buy a diff set of sockets called extractors. NOT cheap! i paid almost 200 bucks for a set of 6 that cover bolt/nut sizes 8mm to 15mm. Not to mention, once you use an extractor on a nut/bolt, their typically not re-usable

but anyhow, good job! Keep goin! Tell the ole lady to back off, maybe buy her some shoes or a purse!! lol

i know i can "rent-a-tool" but, i doubt they'll have that specific one.
