I finally got that 48.
I believe i got a bit of stronger launch but lost some power up there, takes longer to get full speed. Throttle is still being usable at 50% max. I wanted to check plug color but one of the springs came off the clutch and couldn't ride anymore.
The other day I marked the pulley with the sharpie like you said... and today i took a picture so here it is... belt is riding this high:
And i got all this slack in the belt:

That belt looks kind of old. Edges looked frayed.measure the width with calipers.if its narrower than 14.8mm change it. Do a wot plug chop to see where you are on the main jet. My guess is that its 1 size to big right now since you upped the pilot.

What belt are you using, stock boss or using boss shims?

I will have to measure it then.. I know it got toasted with too much heat on the first setup attempt.
I am reading that sticky thread about the ZX mod and learning about the transmission deal a little bit.
I am using a kitaco Kevlar but the numbers are gone in it so i have no clue about its size.
I wonder if i got a stock boss or something else because the drive face barely engages the teeth
of the crank. It is one piece, there are no shims.
I have to install the clutch spring anyway so i will take measurements of everything and check with you guys because
a past owner of my scooter played with the transmission before.
Thank you.

measure the boss length in mm.if your using a stock width belt with a zx boss, then that might be why your having trans issues.

Been away working and no time for the scooter.
I talked to Steve some time ago. He said my shaft is shorter because i have an earlier AF18 model.
This is how the boss stands in there, there are no shims or anything
Measurements:
boss: 35mm
old worn belt seen in the picture: 13.9mm wide
used bando belt that i had lying around currently installed: 14.4mm
So i replaced the kevlar belt for the bando. The bando is wider and shorter. Lost some mid range torque i think with it, but there is less slippage for sure.
I found the rear bearing got some play so time to replace it... sucks.

get yourself a new belt. new is 15.5mm wide. so your used 14.4mm belt is worn too.

Greetings:
I could be mistaken, but my recollection is that the stock SR boss is ~33mm. A Polini-for-Rubkus kit I purchased measured a whopping 37mm and wouldn't work even with my widest belts. Using a 35mm boss on my crank requires the use of a ZX 18mm belt. The Stock belt, even if it measures a true 15.5mm wide, will slip between the front sheaves until the variator actuates. This isn't a good situation, because it'll cause the belt to wear quickly. Unlike vintage snowmobiles, these belts aren't designed to perform as a second "clutch".
When I shim out my 2001 AF16, the exposed splines protrude a bit farther than your picture shows, so perhaps Steve is correct in saying the AF18 crank is different.

I believe a ZX 18mm belt would not come down to even touch the boss if i install the drive face, there is just not enough space.
I will try with the stock 15.5mm then.
Which one do you guys recommend? are there different brands or is it just the Bando belt...what is the part number?
Thanks a lot.
