Ok, jetting aside, what accomplishes more: nonrestricted pipe OR variator and nonrestricted ramp plate?
Additionally, can I put in larger jet with the rest of it stock or do I need to do it coordinated?
That is a trick question. The right variator can accomplish more than the non-restricted pipe but if you don't get the non-restricted pipe, you wont be able to push the variator. So you have to get the pipe first in order to have enough power/RPM to take advantage of the variator.

So this ramp plate will work on my 87?:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-HON ... ccessories
I am thinking though at thatfinal price ($26 + $3 + $9 = $38) I should just go with a new variator through daywot or vt. Only issue there is Daywot is OUT of ramp plates and VT doesnt always have in stock...
thoughts?

I used the stock ramp with the keli pulley and it works fine. We never had any of those daytona or sef ramp plates back in the early to mid 90's and the bikes would see mid to high 50mph speeds. Just make sure you have the unrestricted ramp plate. I believe it has us2 stamped on it

x2 for the Keli with a oem Honda non-restricted plate.

Nice! Another cheap mod and will help a lot in all around power is milling the head .030 or buying a performance 50cc head which will increase compression and in return up the torque and help with getting a higher topspeed.

Yo! I slapped the unrestricted exhaust on today (after painting it up nice) and went for a ride...32 MPH!!! That's a 5 mph increase! I was getting 27 but now 32! Sweet!
Also got my unrestricted ramp plate (Thanks Wheelman!) and ordered my Keli variator from Daywot today. 40 mph here I come!
One remaining question: Do I really need yo up-jet? According to specs on wiki my se50p, unless it's an Iowa model, should have the 85 jet in it...?

Greetings:
There's no need to upjet unless you actually want your top end to survive.
Do it before you test top speed again.

Noted, BUT... If it is at 85 already what should I upjet to? 90?
Thanks!
(FYI - went less than a mile on test, took it easy I hope

If it's an 85 leave it.

I suppose the only way to really know is pull it out... But, and this is why I keep questioning, everything I read says the se50p has an #85 like the se50. It was only the se50p Iowa version that was lower at an #82....?
I trust what the great Wheelman says, but if it's #85 I should be ok, right? If I do upjet, is the next #90?

Yes. Start at #85 and check the plug. Only upjet if needed.

Greetings:
Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. I presumed the P-model had an undersized jet meant for restricted engine duty. For sure if stock's an 85, it ain't so bad. I was worried you went WOT with a 68. I should have checked the specs, sorry.
