My own experience with a 90/90 on the Aero was that a bump was required to make the tire kiss the fender, which it did only briefly and never hard enough to apply a "braking" force. If yours can be coaxed into contact by applying the brakes alone, I suspect either your front damper springs may need a little Cialis, or you need to pass on seconds at the Furrs Dessert Bar. I'm sorry but the Scooterwerx Fender Shimming Secret has passed from the Collective. I seem to recall he did something to widen, not raise, his front fender but that's all I remember.

With a Pirelli SL26 up front, it's does more than a "kiss" it's a good solid rub that will burn it's way through the front fender. This is only while using the front brakes, not while just riding along.

With my experiences thus far, I think it also has to do with the manufacturers actual "outer tire" dimensions, as the Pirelli SL26 (90/90-10) is slightly/ notably "taller" than a Michelin S2 (90/90-10)

I currently have tried both above mentioned tire brands (90/90-10 size) with both yielding rubbing issues while applying the front brakes (SL26 has major rubbing concerns while under braking).


Tonight I'm going to be working on the front end along with swapping out the front shocks--to rule out the possibility of worn shocks/ dampers.

NOOOOO!

That rubbing sound did make me wonder the first time, but thankfully nothing broken...just misspelled.

I remember reading some posts on forumhawaii about using a heat gun to slightly reshape the fender, but on here I've only heard of the mysterious shimming.

I'd prefer to shim as it doesn't have the catastrophic scenario of a melted fender.
