The previous owner of my Spree was running without exhaust gasket and my plastics are melted at that same area.... There were other issues including a missing woodruff key causing incorrect ignition timing so I cant say with certainty, but my vote is "probably".

I installed a new exhaust gasket and air filter yesterday, now I can hit every pot hole and bump like a champ :D I put a little extra oil in the gas while it was running like that so I wouldnt hurt my engine running with a possible leak. Now I gotta burn all that gas out so I can readjust the air/fuel screw to run just right. It has to warm up in order to make the oil thinner so the gas will combust but no big deal. I rode the * out of it today without a problem other than bogging on take off after I let it kewl down at the gas station because of the oil in the gas :D thanks for all the helpful advice guys ;)

Was the exhaust gasket you installed part #1 in the attached diagram? My spree bogs when I hit bumps. I am decarbonizing my muffler soon so I might as well check if that gasket is missing on mine.

Of course, my spree bogs down when I go down hills too lol but it doesn't seem to stall, just recovers a second or 2 later. Hoping its my malfunctioned bystarter bouncing around because a new one is in the mail headed to my house. :thumbwink:

EDIT: holy * I have terrible luck... I thought this topic was from THIS YEAR. How unlucky that the dates matched up so nicely. SORRY!
