Right now i am using Pennzoil 2T outdoor 2-cycle premium engine oil. it says "TC-W3" and also says its good for both watercooled and air-cooled 2-cycle engines.. any input?

TCW-3 stands for Two Cycle Water cooled- 3rd generation AKA outboard oil. You have an Air Cooled Oil injected engine. Do you see any compatibility?

Well it's clearly says "good for both water-cooled and air-cooled 2-cycle engines." mines is air-cooled and it says it's good for it. Also been wondering if that "-" (dash) between the TC-W3 means something.. When you type "TCW3", your (dash) is in between the "W" and "3". Could it be that "TC-W3" is for both air-cooled AND water-cooled, and "TCW-3" is just for water-cooled motors?

Well that is clearly is a lie, but then what would you expect from Penzoil. Look at the chart earlier in this thread. The Amzoil ratings apply to every one's oils and there is no way on earth that an oil designed for an engine that runs at 143┬░ (water cooled temps) will work in an engine that sees 250 to 300┬░ (air cooled temps).

Oh wow, where ever it says TC-W3 it says not recommended. I guess I'll just finish up the pennzoil then go back to Castor 2T when I'm finished.. Thanks!

From what I have just read I have concluded that Bear doesn't know s*** about oil specifications. I will continue to use TC-W3 oil.

Just a note...my post wasn't a jab at Bear, i just wanted to post up what i found.

I'll still use TC-W3 in my boats and Castor 927 in my Elite.

Bear was a certified 2 stroke marine mechanic for 3 different manufactures for a lot of years and has forgotten more about TCW-3 oils than you will ever know.
