Turn signals work off the battery. The headlight and dash lights are alternator drive with the engine running.

Evil, I used to live in the M.I. State, I think if their were no state lines Monroe would be apart of Toledo. Nice to know a brotha from M.i. Stay warm

Did some things for the update:
1. New plug and play wiring for 1987 SE50 to 2005 Sym DD50 engine
-Spliced some new male and female terminals for plug and play:
-Starter Relay, Starter Motor, Alternator, ignition pick up.
*Regulator simple swap out, resistor swap, CDI swap.
2. Colors:
-Bright Idea Yellow
-Classic Grey
3.Changed out engine to DD50
*Everything lined up, shock too, just a mater of bolt to motor to engine mount re-mod
4.Front turn signals
*Oem front turn signals had no lenses so had to put some other ones.
Started first crank

you didnt need to swap out the wire harness or splice into it. all you had to do is use the 87 stator. that way it plugs right in.just use the dd50 mag/flywheel. you can use all the other 87 electornics as it works the same as the dio stuff. so the cdi,regulator,coil..........

Awe shoot, I knew I should have bought a flywheel puller, I just would have have to wait about a week. Instead I got a nice cheap wiring kit. Thankyou for informing me of the stator swap. When I get a FWpuller, do you know if the voltage levels will be affected when I reinstall the original end plugs?

Are the threads on the FW the same on both dd50 and se50. RH internal male 24mmX 1.00

the voltage will be the same. the wattage for the lights, the 87 stator puts out 95watts which is really good plus its a 4 pole vs the dd50 5 pole so little less resistance on the crank. that means it frees up some rpm response. i think the puller should work for both flywheels.
