Well... thats a confusing post.
Why would I change the spark plug?
And there isn't adjustable timing do you mean the ICM?
Either way I wouldn't even get spark if the ICM wasn't working right..

There is a reason that pre-mix was suggested - using starter fluid to prime a 2-stroke engine means running with no lubrication. Not a good thing.
If it runs briefly with priming, it might suggest there is no steady flow from the carb - could be you need to check the jets again.

I blew it out with compressed air for a third time after I got it started. I thought maybe something wasn't right with the float valve but I swear everything in there seems fine..

What are the plugs supposed to be gapped to? (Please don't hurt me for not searching). I'm having very similar issues. New plug, new bystarter, new carb, "new" Monkey Racing CDI (don't know about the quality since it was so cheap). I tried priming it with premix but to no avail. I was scared to put too much in so it might not have been enough. Haven't checked the compression yet. Any other suggestions other than a comp. check?
Thanks. And sorry for the hijack.

If you haven't checked the compression, why are you wasting your and our time with troubleshooting this thing?

Well, obviously you have time to waste or else you wouldn't be able to post such enlightening comments in every thread on this board. I don't know what your deal is but I've been reading through this forum for awhile now and you always seem to have such a sunny disposition...

Maybe too many deep knee bends in the cucumber patch? I understand you're some sort of "expert" around here but the suggestions I've gotten before (one even from you I believe) had nothing to do with checking the compression. Thanks for all your knowledge and insight and I'll be sure to PM you my compression results once I get them...

Try starting your own thread instead of hijacking xenoz?

Since we are having the same problem, I figured I would get flamed less for posting in his than for making another thread stating the SAME EXACT THING. My apologies since I can't seem to understand your forum etiquette. One thing I do understand is that all the internet bullies on here stick together just like the middle school ones that I teach do. Enthusiast Forums are supposed to be where people come together and help each other. Why not come back to reality and realize you're no better than anyone else and contribute something more than just sarcasm and animosity?
Now I apologize for turning Xenoz's thread into something other than a technical discussion. My original intent was to simply get both of our questions answered since we were having similar issues. Apparently the only solution is to do a compression test and go from there. Xenoz, please keep me updated if you get your scooteer figured out as I will do the same.

Actually, the only thing representing a question in your STATEMENT was the punctuation at the end (which was incorrect).

Please excuse my attitude, but all I am trying to do is get this thing fixed while on my Spring Break. It's very time consuming sorting through all the BS posts, such as my own, that contribute nothing beneficial to this site. And because of that, I'll choose to no longer engage in such conversation.
By the way, I think you meant, "I can see why
you're a middle school teacher with that attitude." And no, I'm not an English teacher. I taught math for 6 years before getting my degree in Educational Psychology. And now that I've made myself feel better by showing my superiority on the internet, I'll return to the real world and hopefully move on with my life. Have a most excellent day!
