Ordering the BBK and Cht gauge tonight after work. going to research the final gears and order them this weekend.
I really want to keep this scooter looking and sounding stock. That is the main reasone for going with a 44mm bore (65cc).
This has been a really fun project for me. Though it's more indepth than I thought it would be.
Now the warm weather is close at hand, I need to get her back on the road QUICK!!!

Research the speeds you want too. 8:1 is on the tall side for 65cc.

ok....new 65cc BBK is on its way also ordered the CHT gauge from Trail Tech.

9.2 or 9.0 would be good for you. 8.7 would keep a little in reserve so you won't be winding it out for max speed.

By the looks of the piston, you had 2 things going on, to high a compression from the melting on the edges and speckling on top the piston and to small a main jet. Not enough fuel and oil to lube ,the deep gouges on the side of the piston. The next kit run 2 head gaskets and run that 88 mainjet or jet according to what the cht is telling you.WilliamK wrote:95 SA50P

Bare with me here...there was a fair amount of research that went into the desision to purchase a 65ccBBK. I couldn't get a good compression reading on the origional cylinder 35psi was all I could get. With the new kit I also bought a new compression tester, threaded type. After installed and ran for a few minutes I took another compression test...75psi WOT. Thought for sure I had a bad tester. Tried it again just before I pulled the jugg off and it was 50psi...
I'm sure the tester is wrong.
I want to keep this thread open for any input people can think of....also I have removed the oil pump and installed a plug. Should I reinstall the pump???

Did you continue to kick until the needle stopped? It can take several kicks for the pressue in the line to even out.

Shure did....I want to try to do a static test on a pressure tank or something. I think the gauge is bad

Ebay special. Looked like a good kit but right now, I can't trust it. Going to test it out this weekend and see how far its off. It seems to hold pressure but the hose might have a leak or not have a proper seal.
BBK shipped this morning and should be here middle of the week. Not sure how long it will be for the CHT gauge from Trail Tec. I hope its a good one. Don't wanna spend big bucks for an acft style gauge.
Final drive gears will have to wait a bit for more funds. Going to reinstall my #88 jet and maybe redrill the old jet to around #95.

Use a 90-95 main with a free flow filter and break the d a m n thing in very slow. Break in is very important as well.
