Great suggestion. I had the ties but no duct tape. Will add that to the spare parts/tool kit tomorrow. I have some mini-roll I carry on my quad that I will use. Good thing I added the BIG trunk that some made fun of. The tool kit, spare parts, zip ties, quart of oil, water bottles, couple of rags, bungee cords and some rubber gloves fit and I still have room for my helmet and a long sleeve light jacket for when it warms up as summer comes on to us.eliteguy50 wrote:I know you are prepared now, but if you need to redneck it, duct tape and zip ties. Use multiple zip ties to hold the carb in place. Then seal it with duct tape. Not permanent but it will get you to safety.

You know, it is funny that you mention a bad back. If I ride a real motorcycle my back punishes me and my legs go to sleep, cause real problems when you stop. But the scooter does not do the to me. The sitting position is enough different, I guess. I do get the dead butt syndrome but hey, I'm an old adrenalin junkie.OneBulletDan wrote:Guess I`m a wussy. With three blown disks and arthritis from my saddle to my sombrero, fifty miles is about my limit anymore. After that, it`s more like torture than fun.
I've had 60 pounds in it and it didn't move. Yes you can use it as a back rest, but I have short arms and it doesn't work well for me as a back rest. However I must admit to having found and added a to this set up and extra rear support.eliteguy50 wrote:Does that box support much weight? Can you really use it as a back rest or is it more of a reminder?

Don't feel bad man, The first 4 days of getting my scooter i went from 2,900 miles to 3,250. I could not stop riding it, i had a blast. I still love riding it but work is picking up so i can't ride as much.dv/dt wrote:I rode 40 miles today and thought i broke some sort of world record. Way to take away my special feelings.
