failing cdi's are hard to troubleshoot.........I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Mine did this week one was cdi, a week after i fixed that, it was my coil, week after that was base gasket leak, week after that was head gasket leak, week after that was bad plug, week after that was messed up needle. No joke. Then it ran good after those couple weeks. Glad you found out your problem.

Yes, the 55 pilot is too lean. The 58 pilot is better, it runs best with idle mixture screw about 1 3/4 out using the 58.

This thread can be put on hold. I was trying to tune the carb when i really have a bigger issue. When bigger issue is taken care of i think tuning the carb will be a breaze.
