Chameleon drive face not very cheap!
Re: Light weight drive face
I got mine the last time I was in Tokyo, but WeBike has them online.Trafficjamz wrote:sanjuro wrote: Where could I get a Chameleon drive face?
Does the Malossi Variator come with its own ramp plate?
Yes, the malossi comes with the ramp plate, variator, drive boss and rollers. Just install as is and it's good to go.

Re: Light weight drive face

Is it actually larger than the PG?
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight
Re: Light weight drive face
If it was any larger the teeth wouldn't line up with the gears on the starter motor.
Re: Light weight drive face
With the Naruku you cant use the starter, it will chew it up. The pitch on the Naruku is greater than the PG and it isnt as tall (not as in diameter) as the stock or PG drive face, maybe 2 mm shorter. If you use it daily it will chew your belt up also as it forces it to ride extremely high in the front and pinches it low on the rear pulley, and that is why I would recommend it only for the track. No experience with the chameleon but they make good products.
The Naruku will give a great top speed but better have a strong rear center spring for off the line.

Re: Light weight drive face
The one thing I strive for is balance. Instead of getting the widest diameter outer piece I get one that can still be used with the electric start and make up for it in a taller primary gear.
Re: Light weight drive face
charmlion only made an exhaust which was great, pg front face is only good for mini strokers
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!

Once again, you're woefully uninformed.maddog wrote:charmlion only made an exhaust which was great, pg front face is only good for mini strokers

Greetings:
'Dog, what has happened to you?! You used to post something useful at least once in a while. I can't remember the last time I read something of yours that had any value whatsoever. Sheesh! Here's my PG Al-You-Minnie-Yum face: The pic is typical Wheel-lousy, but it appears ALL of my Sharpie line has been erased, right out to the edge. This suggests the face really lets me use the whole range of the longer 669 ZX belt I'm usiing, and why Flash exceeded 70 despite that longer belt - which usually limits top speed but gives better take-off. I had gone 69.9 with a 654, but barely exceeded 65 using the 669 until I tried it with the PG face. I take back my previous remark that the PG face has no effect on performance. It gives the best of both worlds IF you shim the boss to the belt accurately.

Re: Light weight drive face
The kymco zx uses the heavy steel one also, is it the dio zx that comes stock with an aluminum drive face? Your blue one looks like the Naruku drive face and is the same weight as one.
Re: Light weight drive face
The Honda Dio zx oem is the heavy steel variety.
