and leading him done a money pit path the ends up resulting in a modded spree motor on the bench and a engine swap in process

dont waste money on a spree motor if it aint fast enough for you stock then do a motor swap its easyer to do the swap than t is to fit and tune all the parts to make the spree faster also a second hand motor is ready to if in good condition a new piston kit requires a slow and pain full break in period and if not done properly your money and new bore are

I'm about 270lbs hes is a big boy and if he keep going on the spree he will brake something and get hurt spree are not made for that wate...and I got it going about 25-27mph on the flat and about 30 on a slight down hill according to the speedo on the scooter. What can I do to get a little more speed out of it without spending lots of money.the cheerep way to help him is to sell the spree and get a elite there made for bigger people I'd really just like it to do 30mph on flat

Greetings:

"Dude! Swap in a Dio!!" was a frequent refrain when I first acquired Flash Scootertrash in 2008. My goal was to take this little beast and make it Be All That It Could Be. Suggestions from well-meaning Forumistas to change course were pointless and annoying. I ignored them, spent WAAYY more money than I should have, had lots of fun, learned a TON, and recorded over 58 miles per hour on the GPS.

The Spree has its shortcomings, but lots of attractive attributes too. It's Quick-handling and really easy to pick up and carry upstairs. Some on the Forum report Sprees approaching 40MPH. Yes it takes a lot of money, and can compromise the reliability Honda-san intended. Is it worth the trouble? That depends on who you are.

BTW, Rider Weight has little or nothing to do with top speed except that heavier people will run downhill FASTER. It boils down to power, rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag. Yes bigger people produce more of the latter. Heavier riders will find acceleration is slower, but top speed changes only due to rolling resistance (HINT: Put Sidewall Maximum Pressure in the tires...) and wind drag. Develop a good Tuck or put on the Danskin if you want bragging rights.

no. Not enought power you really need all 3 upgrade (carb/intake,bbk, and gears) for you to see a real big difference. If you are on a budget then go with the ax-24 belt and carbon fiber reeds and some taller tires and you will see a few more mph outta your top end.
I did the ax-24 belt and an 86/87 reed block and reeds port matched and roughed up the intake, put on a stock pipe from jiang wayne that was suposed to fit the spree but diddnt but now does, it flows better than a gunked up spree pipe, I get above 30 on the flats easy with decent take off. I had firbre glass malossi reeds until the spree ate them, they rocked untill that happend. Ok here's what it cost me to get above 30 with my stock spree on the orig piston and rings.
Intake and reed block from ebay 20$
AX-24 belt 20$
Pipe 90$ could prob do it without but my pipe was toast.
And some drem dremel work.
My spree will go wot all day long.
Some of us just don't have access to mmotors to swap and th down time if the scooter is a main vehicle
