sounds to me like something bound up in the gear- more then likely bearing broke casing striped the tooth- your gonna need new bearings too- they arent too much- it sounds like a big job- but id rather swap out the gears any day of the week- can u post a picture?? will help a lot-- i had several vento's before

i find the bearings they use suck pretty bad- first thing i do is upgrade them on my builds-- if your turning more rpms you need better bearings

Oh I was probably doing 50-55 the night before. Lolol.
But what size bearings?

is it a 40qmb- printed on engine or cvt case

the engine should be a 40qmb, but i know the zip gears are different from the triton, but id just swap the whole engine out- piecing together stuff is going to cost you at least 120 anyway

i might be getting a vento zip in a few weeks- if i change my gearing i can sell u the old ones

look up some diagrams or schematics for the gearbox on the 40qmb, or vento zip engine- then once your realize how it all goes together - you will be able to tell what needs to be replaced- but if it doesnt have teeth its bad lol

ended up getting a vento zip too- let you know if/when i swap gears
