Ever notice what your screwdriver does to very tight carb bowl screws?

I know that doesn't help on the ones you already mangled . If I cut a slot with the dremel I still use the hand held impact

driver . Found out about impact drivers in the 60's trying to remove screws from Japanese dirt bikes , but didn't know about
the difference in Phillips heads till much much later !

Bolt and fastener stores in the Bad Part of Town should be aware of weirt Japanese-Spec Phirips head sclews. That or Tokyo.

I had the issue with my 1971 CT 70. Even Harley riders know not to try to drop the bowls on their Keihin carbs using Wal-Mart Stanley tools. Instant mushed screw head and much cussing ensues. Never had much luck with cheap Chinese hand impact drivers either. On a 1980, torch or notching the head and taptaptap counterclockwise with a lot of patience.

so finally i got them all out! sometimes with pliers, sometimes with impact, sometimes with drills....

i went to lowes and bought all new 10mm bolts for about $5.00

on the other side of this case/clutch/chain cover is .75qt of 10w30 oil. the owners manual shows it being filled up with the bike laying on the ground! oem sacrilege.

4 qts later i learned it is impossible to balance and line up the case cover and a home made gasket with the other half of the case without spilling oil everywhere ( once you spill it you have to start over, as there is no fill tube/ bolt hole)

im probably going to sell this bike so i don't want to spend 15 on a gasket. would liquid gasket work here? like the kind you use to put engine cases back together
