hi bonesv, what I meant to say is ebay is not the same. prices are higher for used stuff. you have to get lucky to score. no disrespect. I've gotten great deals on this forum. I've gotten wheels for $25-$30. ebay want $50+. I know I can do better I just need to shop around. I like to save the money for more parts

happy new year. and happy riding.

Thanks guys, I have also bought from established folks here on hondaspree.net, and sold some items as well. I was not saying anything derogatory about the established folks on this forum, or the forum itself.
I was implying that you might find a metropolitan (4stroke) wheel much more quickly on ebay.
I have previously asked for someone to sell myself a set of these wheels a year or so ago and i did not receive any replies. I did however locate some metro wheels from local sources, and of course, ebay. Yes, it is a box of chocolates, I'm just glad I'm not allergic.
Good luck to you Ped, and happy, happy new year. You too swim.

Greetings:
I scored Met wheels on totalruckus.com. The Met isnt as popular as a mod platform as the Ruckus, but people do install aftermarket wheels and sell off the stockers sometimes. eBay sellers often charge too much, but occasionally you score there too.

Hi forum.
ok. I cut the metro hub, and it did not work.

not what I was hoping for.
The wheel is off to one side and rubs on the spree forks.
I did fine a way to make it work ,but there is a lot of modification.
I already started, and will post photos soon. this is where I'm at now. I had to swap the fork tubes. in order to get the wheel centered. I will then have to drill holes on the fork tube. for the new brake boss, and weld it on.

hi forum. the wheel rubs on the fork tube. I will have to grind down the hub a little to center the wheel.

Aero 50 wheels also have a larger diameter brake than the sprees. Might be worth looking into. I thought about this swap last year but the brake being located on the opposite side of the fork deterred me from going any further. I'd love to see this work tho! I may try again this spring.

-- Clarification --
Aero 50 front wheel has an 80mm drum like the Spree. What it does offer is a wider shoe and higher leverage actuating arm. Yes - Speedo would be inop and odo runs backwards

I have not checked, but it might be possible to move Aero speedo mechanicals into the Spree's housing. Otherwise, swapping out both gears in the hub might work.
Aero 50 Rear wheel is 95mm drum, Spree Rear is 80mm.
I looked into Aero 85-87 front wheel on Spree a few years back -
Here's a link to a summary and scroll around the thread.

Hi kevin.
the wheel is already centered with the hub. I just have to drill forks for the new boss. and weld it in.
as for the speedo I will be using a gps.
I was looking at a bicycle speedo for walmart. but I have a old gps I can use.

Hi mousewheels.
very good info thanks.
I running the af16 motor and rear wheel on the spree frame. A spreedio. the rear brakes are good. the front are useless.
I will soon change that. halfway there.
