Hi again everyone.
I have replaced the carb and now it idles good. But another problem comes up. This time the engine will not rev constantly. It seems to want to die when revved and several times the pipe would make an exploding noise. What could cause the pipe to make loud exploding noise? I replaced the spark plug, still the same.
Help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Maybe the float valve is leaking or the float is stuck dumping a ton of fuel through th carb or it has too large a main jet or its missing the main jet altogether. Just a thought.

Turns out, the problem is electrical. When I changed the engine from AF05e to AF18e, I had to relocate the ignition coil from its original location to a location where the supply wire has to be folded and I didn't notice part of the coil body is rubbing with the supply wires. I rewired the coil so it hangs freely. I realized the ignition coil is, well, a coil and could be magnetic. Hence must be at a certain distance from anything that is also magnetic like a supply wire. All is well now. Idles beautifully too. Thanks everyone.

Wow thats quite shocking... Forgive the pun. I'm having an issue with my af18 not wanting to rev up right. I just hung my coil from the frame with a piece of wire right before I had the issue. I thought I fouled the plug. I'll try ditching the wire hanger and see if it helps. I love hearing about fixes like this. Stuff you would never think in a million years would solve a problem

Mine wouldn't rev up because of a bad ground.
