Hm-m-m-m, gotta agree with G9 again. If you run the petcock that is wide open, eventually your needle valve in the carb will not seal well enough and you'll be leaking gas. Also, you shouldn't need to drill a hole in a perfectly good gas cap - you should be able to clear the intended vent. Best fix is to use the functioning petcock and add a nipple to the intake - then never worry about it again.
Other option would be to get one of the old Honda on/off petcocks or an in-line valve so you can at least turn the gas off when stored.
Over-engineering a simple fix will mean dealing with it over and over until you do it right - as Honda intended.

If you dont listen and you actually drill a hole ATLEAST put a fuel valve. But I suggest you just add a nipple or change manifolds. Because your probably going to run into problems later if you change the set up

graphite9 wrote:Just swap the manifold, or drill and tap yours. This is a $15 half hour fix.
af16 manifold will not mount the af18 carburetor, the bolt spacing is different on the pb carb
drill and tap is easy fix. be sure to find a flat area to tap it and use thread sealant.

How are you lost? You've been told by 4 people that if you don't have the correct vacuum connection on your manifold then you need to tap one. Very easy fix most hobby shops or model/rc car shops have the nipples. A buddy of mine got a nice little kit that came with the drill bit, tap, and nipple all together takes 5 minutes and your problem is solved. The gas cap would have been a possible solution if you had already had the correct vacuum line/connection installed. Bones posted a perfect pic for you. Start there first

@curtis966 - why are you TRYING to sell me all YOUR kind of stuff when graphite9 already said i can fix my problem by correcting a "possibly" erratic GAS CAP. JUST a "GAS CAP". sir.
Anyway I have drilled the gas cap. I will let that decide instead. Thank you for your inputs everyone. Appreciated.

That was 20 some posts ago but do what you want. I'm not selling you anything just listening to the very helpful members here that already gave you the correct action with pictures lol. If you don't want the help that's cool drill your gas cap and enjoy losing a tank of gas each evening you leave it sit over night. Guess you might get lucky but Gravity is a c*** that always wins

Agreed he will soon learn that what he's doing is bad idea. Is reason honda san didn't have a hole in the gas cap.
