Could be a flaw in the mold. Wondering how long they been using this mold for this cylinder. If it is old it could have developed flaws over time. Just few guesses. Could be the quality of the cast is down.

Hi t. I believe Polini makes a new sand mold for every cylinder. The quality control is very good but not perfect.
Johnny, I knew Polini was not going to warranty it because of the porting I've already been through this process once. I was hoping they would help. the only way they warranty it If it was damaged in shipping.
I think you will be OK once its brazed, welded. Use a little black or red silicone on gaskit and snug it up good. People don't recommend silicon but I've been using it for years with no problems.
good luck.

I've been porting them for years and never broken one yet. I believe they're rushing the process or they were cast or cooled at a temp they are not normally. A couple of degrees can be detrimental if it was already at its limit on temp. Either way there's more that have been ported and not broke tHan ones that have. Even non ported ones are snapping but I can safely say I used next to no force when installing my header and mine popped right off.

1man, I know what you mean. I had very little force when nine broke.
I got mine back from being brazed. The welder put a small tig on each side of the flange area to keep everything lined up, then brazed the outside as well as to inside of it. I cleaned up the inside of the port with a die grinder to get it as close to the original porting as I could. It seems pretty strong, but I didn't want to push it.
Bolted the Yasuni flange back on using the flat o-ringed gasket, and didn't use the original packing circle. Coated each side with some copper high temp RTV and torqued it do about 6ft lbs. Less than what Honda specs, but as I said, I wanted to be more safe than sorry when bolting that together.
I'll see how it holds up. Hopefully this will be like it never happened. I'm stuck at the moment thought because I need to order a new MHR base gasket for the thing. I could have sworn that I had an extra one that I bought, but it seems to be MIA.

G9, or anyone else. If you can't find someone local to braze those, you can send them to me and I'll take them over. Used a place called Weldcraft who has been around here forever and is known for their wheel repair . (weldcraftwheels.com). They charged me $35 to do mine. If someone wants to send it to me, I'll take it over.

Most everyone else is just in it for a quick sale, and then they are gone. Won't respond to email, nothing. Just take your money and that's it. Thank god for SSS
Not to get into a whole thing, but this is exactly why I can't believe that one duche bag was trying to start all that stuff and just lie. Totally does not fit your character at all.
