UPDATE AERO MOTOR INTO SPREE
Well I got the motor into the spree however the aero motor will not fire for some reason. I checked the spark, and it gots plenty, I checked the gas and it gets a lot. After turning over the motor with the starter the plug just gets soaked with gas. I tried spraying starting fluid, nothing. It wont even grab for a second even with the starter fluid. Just turns and turns. I pulled the head off and the piston is brand spanking new! Not one piece of carbon on it. What do you guys think is the problem? A bad rebuild? Reed valves? Oil in the crankcase? I did notice some in there, however I drained most of it if not all of it out.

im not sure on the elite80 engine, i know on a spree engine, the pick up coil has one wire OR two. if your electrical on the the spree only has the one wire...blue/yellow stripe and the 80 engine has two, you will have to ground the green wire in order to get the spark. take a peek and c what u find. maybe this info could help u.
Yes, you should be getting combustion... you may want to check that the spark is firing when the piston is at TDC. Are you getting a blue spark or a red one? If it's red your plug needs to be replaced (I assume you have a new plug, not something that's been laying around.)xela_p2004 wrote:I got the same answer at the total ruckus website, I was told it was possibly a bad or loose ground however. I will look over my wiring again, I just figured if there was spark and fuel and air it should fire.
Did the motor run when you removed it from the Aero?

Have you checked compression? Try to start it with starter fluid.. if it pops over the carb is probably screwed up.

Like I mentioned in my post, starting fluid doesnt do anything. The engine just wont grab, even though theres gas and spark. My conclusion was compression, but the piston is bran new and the head looks bran new too. Is torqued down and all, I just dont get it. I decided maybe its the reeds or electical, but it has spark.

it has to be compression somewhere.
u might of broke a piston ring. oil seals might be leaking around the crank. heres a trick that works for me. take out your spark plug and put a little bit of your oil in there. this will bump your compression on your first start up. only other thing i can think of is buying a new plug.

If you've verified compression, there's no need to pull the top end apart. You need to verify compression... new parts does not necessarily mean good compression!
Next to check is timing of the spark; is it hitting at TDC?
Reeds in place and in good condition?
Carb clean and set to stock specs?
