I swapped carbs and runs now. Iv heard of carbs just being worn out but this has low miles an it and it bothers me I can’t get it to work. Any idea on what the issue could be or where to get a used Oe carb? Thanks

1) Check the carb body behind the carb mounting flange closest to the bystarter for a dent from a 'too long' bolt
If there is a dent, pull the bystarter and see if the carb body has internal damage
2) Make sure the brass fuel pickup tube for the bystarter is fully seated in the carb body

Hey man thanks for the info.. I Clean the carb One last time and tried it. Some miracle of baby Jesus it started up first kick idle fine. Ran my * around at 35mph (sss speed pulley.) hot restart fine.. I’ll test a cold start tonight… I’ve cleaned carbs 100 times before . Must missed something. Hahaha

I just put it on last night. I haven’t touched the jet yet but the bike definitely likes the pipe.

Even us old dudes sometimes get befuddled by a simple problem.
The trouble is, sometimes we get it fixed without knowing exactly what we did to fix it.
Kudos to you for being dedicated to seeing this issue through to the end.

Thanks. I’ve Ben working on it for a friend now I can get finally get it back to him and get on my own projects again
