Clutch needs rebuild? Maybe your belt slips?

try taking off your air filter once....

[every one calm down, i know running with out an air filter is bad but its just to check.]

with the air filter off it just bogs out and dies. with it on the way it is now if i give it full throtal it starts to SLOWLY take off and starts rolling for like 2-4 sec then it starts to take off. i have to help it by foot to get it to move on hills from a stop.

Just to check:

1) Are you running old gas? Burn some weeds with it.
2) How is your idle?
3) Does it rev nice on a stand?

i had sat for a year with no gas in it i drained it out fresh gas inside the tank carb is clean. it idles fine for the most part if i leave it there for a few min it stalls out it revs up on the stand.

would not having a battery in it cause this effect?

I doubt it but even if the batt is dead you should have one in it.

Yes, it's going to make both your take-off and your top speed worse.

Honda has them.
I've got a dozen belts for Spree's, but not for Elite.
If this fails, check compression and main jet size.
