I've cleaned out the muffler (put it over a campfire and cooked the carbon out), I know the bystarter works (applied current to it as recommended by someone here), the fuel valve appears to work (I apply a vacuum to it with a syringe and the gas flows). I've cleaned the jets in the carb and know they are clean. IF I shoot gas into the cylinder head, it will start up ok but dies soon after. I'm thinking that I'm down to low compression or a brass pipe in the manifold is blocked (saw that on another post). I'm going to clean out the brass pipe tonight, test the compresson tomorrow. Any other possibilities?

Compression tests out at 120. When I use a syringe to create vacuum, I get gas flow, however, apparently not enough vacuum when cranking it as the carb bowl stays empty. I checked the vacuum line and the pipe that the line connects to and both are clear. It almost runs...

Any other ideas?

Hi I'm having just about the same trouble. But the first thing that comes to mind is that you may have a problem with the vacuum line its self. have you tested it to see if it has any leaks?
