few options. a nut will fit on the back which requires a longer bolt. u cant do it to the front tho. u can helicoil it. u can fill with epoxy drill and re tap. or u can do the easiest which is to take a wire put it through the hole and follow it with the bolt. its easy and it works well. (i had to do it to mine). not really the right way to do it but ive put a couple hundred miles on it like that and no problems so far.dont keep running it with a loose carb though because it is running way too lean. that also explains why it took forever to start it. thats a good sized air leak.

dude my carb was stripped, and i figured out a solution. Just use a longer bolt w/ washers and nuts to hold the carb on. Worked for me like a charm. I'll try to get u some pics soon. That should help, I would imagine.
edit* well vette beat me too it, oncemore. btw on the front bolt i used epoxy just to hold the bolt in there, while back bolt does all the carb holding.

Well i just went ahead and drilled it and tapped it for the long run. And now im havin another probvlem the spree will not idle at all the screw is as far as it will go in and it just barrley idle and when i get it off the satnd it dies. when im driving im noticeng like condensation on the intake and its cold, what is this and also when i try to adjust the carberauuer it does nothing, and one more thing it only goes to 25 then it bogs and wont go any further i might still ahve a leak so ill go cxheck that but the other day it would go 30 so i dont know i just cant cacth a break with this thing.
