i just clamped mine to the back of the carb, i have the sa50 intake tube though, i think with the aero intake it is pointed right at the rear shock...

I had the shock interference issue with my Aero filter too.

Home Depot PVC 45-degree elbow in 3/4 inch size solves the problem. I cut two crosswise grooves and reamed out one end to permit clamping over Airbox carb flange.(I.D. of the elbow = 1")

My K&N RU100 has a 15-degree angled flange so by twisting everything around I got it so the filter hugs the shock. With the Uni you could plumb another 45 to do the same.

Yeah it looks Ghetto but the only thing showing is the end of the filter.

When I removed (and sold) my stock Aero airbox, I didn't think to examine the rubber grommet/air-horn thingy as a potentially useful part. I might have retained it to help mount my filter assembly better.

As it stands, the 3/4" PVC elbow was just a 16th too small in diameter to mount up, so I Roto-Zipped it a little bigger - the carb mouth OD is ~27 mm. Then I hacksawed cross-patterned pair of grooves down 3/8" into the carb end of the elbow to create four "petals" that would provide a way to clamp it directly to the mouth of the carb.

It's on there with a hose clamp and plenty tight. The filter clamps on to the elbow without modification, and the whole assembly is tight enough not to require additional bracketry, though that might be a good idea.
