i measured the dimensions of my glove box and I think they should fit, but they might just stick out a little

Im pretty sure the elite stator doesn't even put out 300 watts unloaded.

Im sorry what is a stator and what does it do? I know that the guy on the youtube video that this setup isnt running it in an elite but he said the actual output isnt a full 300w

The stator runs your lights and charges the battery, the amp draws over 300 watts(it cant be 100% efficient), 300 watts at 14.4 volts is 20 amps, correct me if Im wrong but the elite calls for a 7 amp fuse for the WHOLE electrical system.

Back to some speakers from a pair of beat up headphones in your helmet. It would be like wearing headphones, self contained, and legal.

thank you for the input, but i dont want the music just for myself. I want the other ppl i am riding with to hear it to. So if i still want to use that amp what can i do to get enough power to handle the amp? thanks

Run it on an external battery of some sort.

Theres some good info in there for you from a guy that has actually done it on an elite and knows that it IS possible. It sucks that the pics don't work though, his fiberglass enclosure was pretty cool.

Those speakers are 4ohm's a piece so they will be running 75w peak x 2 channels.
Thus, you will only be experiencing 37.5w x 2 @ 4ohm.
This is very similar to a standard aftermarket head units output.

I do not know the output amperage of the stator on mopeds, so your guess is as good as mine in this case. My guess would be that it would be alright.
I have bolded the CORRECT information. Thank you very much.

k im bringing this thread back cause i just got an idea for my own scoot

as im sitting here reading info and listening to free music (thanks myspace) i started to think of ways i can listen while i ride
well i think i can listen while i ride the same way im listening right now
my computer came w/ a set of JBL platinum speakers and i wondered how to adapt them for the scoot, well the speakers take a normal headphone jack and plug into my power strip under my desk, and the wall wart takes the 120vAC and transforms it to an output of 12vDC @1a
now i may be wrong but im pretty sure the scooter could keep up w/ an output like that

anyone else think this will work? anyone else tried this set up before and know whether or not it works?

i happen to have another set of the exact speakers in my basement right now thanks to a warranty return of my computer minus the speakers ;)
