I spit the case today.

I used a steering wheel puller. It worked really well. :2thumbs:

Still had to smack it out the other side with a rubber mallet.

With the case split, and the crank out, I decided to open up the intake on the block.

Here are a couple before shots.

Had the same problem with the `99 I`m rehabing. The bolt somehow had been snapped off even deeper in the case. Tried drilling a hole in it, using Bear`s Mystery Concoction and an easy-out on it. Wouldn`t budge. Wound up using progressivly larger drill bits until I got to the tap size, and then used a 8mm, 1.0 thread tap. 45 minutes after I started, the world was lovely again. Two new 8X35 bolts and it`s good to go.

So THAT`S why I had to use my three pound spark plug hammer to put `em in!

Yep, I checked. You were right on the pitch. Guess between the two of us, we`ve got a brain.

fastplastic - To answer your question/explain, you posted that you were trying to figure out how to "rob" the Malossi crank from tjamz. The crank happens to be mine - tjamz is repairing/upgrading/assembling the scooter for me. Thus my comment about no robbing allowed as you would be stealing my crank.
The portion of my post regarding having noiseguy post a stickey about no robbing was a joke - there is a stickey out there about no threats on the board and was trying ask for a similar stickey about robbing/stealing.

All strictly for humor, of course. But it appears my attempt at humor was not very sucessful....
