Greetings:

That looks like a crushed brass standpipe alright. However the pic quality is clearly better than any I have taken.

Well with the exception of blowing the most toxic substance known to man thru this carb ,I think I have done all of the suggestions that all of you have made. I think prehaps this carb is done for If I could adjust the cable to pull on the throttle slightly, I might be able to deal with the situation. I guess I am on the hunt for a new carb :x

Oh yes, several times. :( Gave it a bath in Carb clean then in acetone. Blew it out with compressed air. :eyeroll: loved it  hated it  threw it across the room. replaced the float & needle. threw it again. :*: IDK what is wrong with it.

After I got mad at the Elite I just had to ride something that ran good. Took out my neglected Spree for a romp. God, it feels so small now and actually underpowered. But, I still love it

wait...are you not able to twist the throttle? that is an adjustment in front of the bike just under the twist grip. should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch of play.

I can twist the throttle it is sticky though. If I could take up some slack in the cable it may idle. :hi:

Man, what a long day :bs: . After the wife's day surgery honda called me to tell me the air filter I ordered was in. I raced down there to get it before they closed. :D Came home and installed it. Still hard to start and it isn't too cold outside 45 degrees and she's been living in the house. :werd: still won't idle but, now I noticed while on the stand if I peg the throttle you hear it kinda misfire occasionally. Kinda a lower burr sound. That carb's gotta be dirty still. :(

Well I went ahead and ordered a main jet for it today. $6 from Honorable Hondasan. I'm hoping I can smooth this thing out and get it to idle :)

what is stock jet in your SE50? if you havent done any mods stick with that. sounds like to me maybe your carb is still dirty,or your settings are not on the money. before you go messing wit hjets id look at those . d/load the manual b4 you mess with jets.

look at your stock jet before you order. you might look at the main needle and see if it is set in the middle spot. i wouldnt think anything would br wrong with the main jet.
