CharlotteSpreeRider,
I was wondering how the carb worked out that I sent you.
I benched checked the carb with liquid, to check for a good seal. It passed.
Let me know how it performs.
Thanks, greg

I had another problem not carb related that was keeping me out of commission, but I think I fixed it. Carb doesn't seem to be leaking so far. Heating up that tab on the float to get it to bend and stick is ingenious, I would have never thought of that, but that is an excellent idea.

I solved my nail in the overflow hose issue... It wasn't the overflow the nail was in, it was the d bowl drain hose. I had figured it out before but forgot about it. The previous owner for some reason replaced the drain needle with a bolt, must have lost the needle and couldn't get one. I had one in my NC50 Express which is not running right now so I pinched it for the spree it is the same. That is nice to have solved that because it goes in for its motor vehicle inspection on Friday hopefully and I was a little nervous that it could fail with the nail in the hose. The last time my spree had a valid inspectiopn sticker was 1994!

is the float new? maybe if it not new it is worn and sloppy on the pin and going too high in the carb and not pushing the needle enough into the seat. My float was working fine but a I tried heating the tab and bending it down to put the float level where it should be. Worked. a lighter and a gentle bend. New float would be good but in a pinch for trouble shooting it works.
