What kind of plug you using? Your trans sounds like it needs a better tune and 32:1 is what some people use but like i said air temp altitude and humidity play a big role. Also remember that with a stock unported block you have to run a little bit bigger jets to compensate for the poorer flow. Ottoman runs 41:1 or something in that area i know its above 40:1 and hes got huge strokers. Adding more oil per gallon doesnt nessisarily cool it better it just lubricates more. You still risk heat seizing because the mixture is leaned out when you downjet. If have way more oil or air in that mixture than you do gasoline and that is called running lean. Thats why im saying to do a better job tuning because it will bite your *. You said it was 4 stroking down low you could be too big on the pilot. What is your pilot tuning method? You need a cht gauge.

Cht guage would be helpful or sure.. Really dont have a specific way with the pilot.. Any suggestions? I might drop down one on the pilot.. I think its a 51 or 50.. All reality i think the 28 is to much..like i said mid and high rpms is beautiful.. My trans is stock vari and clutch for cruising around and highway with 7.5's..

Try to set idle at 1800 rpm
Turn the pilot all the way in, it should die. if not too small of a pilot.
Turn the pilot out to at least 3 1/2 turn out, it should raise in rpm, if not too large.
Thats the way I tune my pilots. If Im wrong someone let me know because it always works for me. Also remember these little engines are extremely subject to humidity and temp, more so with an open element filter(uni KN, polini etc).

when I say rise in rpm, I mean 1k-2500 more rpms depended on the engines compression and size. if it only rises a very small amount, like 1-500 rpm then its almost right but still a little too large.

You have to turn the air fuel out until the rpms no longer pick up. From there you tweak it by feel and air temp

In Floriduh if the temp is 95 the humidity is 95. I sometimes think we have water injection. It has just started to cool down some. looking forward to temps in the 80's.
