The only problem is you need bigger displacement to "suck" that air and fuel in. Giving it a bigger carb and exhaust in hope to see big gains is a noobie thing to do. Like i said the stock carb can be ran on big bore kits without starving the engine of fuel the only reason you shouldnt is because of the fixed pilot. There are ways of getting an sa50 to 50mph without a bigger carb or bbk. Cheaper too

I thought you said a pipe will make the piston "more hot". lol I am actually in a contest with my buddy to see how fast we can get our stock bore sprees going. A pipe and a carb will be bought. They will all work on the af16 so why not.. :coolcruise:

The rings wear out faster on the exhaust side when you put such a big pipe in a 50cc. They do design aftermarket pipes for 50cc that work well. The one he has is for a 70cc. Thats all im gonna say already i feel like i am preaching to the choir. Since you guys seem to know better. Go ahead put your pipe and big carb on. Have fun tuning it shoots.

How are the rings on a stock piston different that a big bore unit lol. You are basing your 2 stroke knowledge on lore and fairytales.. Get the mixture and timing right and the pipe you claim as voodoo will not destroy the rings on a stock piston.

No one said they were putting a large carb on anything. I did but for experimental purposes only. Tuned pipes can work on stock bores if they are tuned for the bore they are being used on. And even if they are for a different bore they can still work and work well.

After seeing the V8 pipes scooter people swear by it is hard to take anything the "tuners " say seriously.

Experiment all you want a 70cc pipe is too big for a 50cc it will kill your top speed and help down low. For the last time the stock carb is perfect for the 50 even if you do put a bigger pipe on

Who said the pipe was designed for a 70cc.. What pipe are you running on your scooter ?

I was running a sef magic copy. That metrakit exhaust has a way bigger inlet diameter for that tiny exhaust port. A derestricted sym dd50 pipe works well on those stock bores. Alot of people ditch them for v8s only to lose power on the top end. They go for 20 bucks sometimes.

Wo, didn't see all these posts -thought I had this thread subscribed to!

I don't know if y'all saw my other post over in Technical Help, but I ran into problems with the pipe - probably too small of bore for it as king says.

http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... =3&t=25730

The problem I ran into, apart from all the smoke, is that I'm maybe at 1/8 throttle in those videos and RPMs hitting 8k easily, at one point more for a quick second - pipe sucking too much air through engine?

I should just get a BBK (thinking the nikasil Wheelman raves about)
