the main jet is the jet inside the bowl right?in the middle of the float?
what would happen if i unscrewed it a little to lower it?

It would fall out at some point and cause more problems. If you want to change the main jet you'll need to get one with a different size. What is it currently? Should be a #65.
Was the Spree fouling the plug b/f you made the change?
Another thought; do you have the oiler tube mixed up with the vacuum tube on the intake manifold?

no it was not fouling the plug. i put the original back on. i will get a new plug today. that plug was only 4 months old. what would happen if the lines were mixed up?

i found out why the spree would die every time i moved it a certain way. i had a short so when i turned the h-bars it would short out and die. i guess this is why it would not start either. my kill switch is working now too. a lot of thinking and cursing at it for something stupid like that.

If you mixed up the lines I think that a) the carb would run out of gas due to the petcock closing b) it would dump way too much oil into the intake, fouling your plug. I believe the oiler has an orifice (tiny opening,) vs. the vacuum line, which is enlarged.
You're using scooter / injector oil and not marine / premix oil, right?

the lines are not mixed up. when you rev the throttle up it revs for a second acts like its under load boggs and dies. when you richen the mixture from the air screw it idles higher but will do the same thing it just lacks power and takes longer for it to bog and die. like i said before i have cleaned the carb and all of that. but it shows the same result. this sucks!

Hey, to see if he really has 5 Sprees, he should e-mail me pictures of them and I'll post them on my site. But I highly doubt he has that many also. But hey, we could be sadly, sadly, sadly mistaken.

ok, i finally got the spree running well. the cover on the air box was loose. now that it is running well i wonder if that intaks really works. all this was not caused by the intake and i really didnt have a chance to try it between it bogging down because of the air lid and the electrical short. it might just work after all. i still do not know why i had oil in the vac line. can anyone answer this?
