Kevinstonge wrote:Looking good! Judging by the aero 50 font on the front plastic it's indeed an 85 nb50m, but you can confirm by the vin tag on the frame behind the front wheel. Be careful not to break or lose the black plastic piece Inbetween the rear blinkers. That oem piece is getting harder and harder to find.
I'll have to snap a pic of it tomorrow to show condition. Its cracked and missing a medium chunk.
Probably sell it or trade for an air filter??

Found out that the headlight doesn't come on until it's running. I figured that, makes sense.

She runs!!! Took a few short bursts with the elec start since thats all it has. Ran for a few short seconds. Airfilter & cover should be here in a few days. Oil to pump is good. Spark is good. I'll post a link to a video asap. Cheers!!

Greetings:
Honda changed the tank fitting diameter in 1986 for ALL models, not just the Spree. The 1985 petcocks don't fit later tanks, and vice-versa. If you have an '85 you must get a 1985 petcock or a later model fuel tank as the '85 petcocks may not be easy to find.

Quick vid of it trying to start, it will start if I hold throttle down but she putters to get there. And whike doing so, it leaks gas out of top ovetflow tube on carb. I've tried the settings on carb to 1 3/4 th out and 1 1/4 out. Various air filter configurations too.
Haven't had too much time to mess with today

Here's the scoop.
I did research on the bystarter and figured it probably isnt warming up, which im not sure that it is. I did an infrared temp reading & it doesnt change. Maybe it still is. Anyway, checked my green & yellow connections (shown in earlier thread pics) checked the plug wire. And figured id try again this morning to fire up. It started!! No giving it gas or anything.

that was only once. Now ive attached a vid of me starting it but I have to give it gas. It runs, roughly. And bogs. Fuel comes out of carb top overfow.
Also I've attached pics, which might be an issue or not. The exhaust has been dripping a small amount of oil. THIS WAS BEFORE IT EVER RAN. so could it possibly be clogged??
Here's the vid link & pics.

Better video, starts by giving it gas. About 1/2 throttle and runs by holding at 1/2 throttle. As soon as I let go it dies. Still leaks gas while its running.
Smoke looks good though

A short ride..

Starts instantly! !
Gotta pull the plug because shortly after the ride video it bogged down, it would stay idling but any load put on it shut off. Wait a couple mins & it would fire back up. All in all, very pleased
