i tested the propane torch on the panels upper gray panels, and that did nothing. however i tested a can of the bumper black on the headset inner gray cover and it looks promising. I also hit the side panels with 220 and 400 wet. I think i'll hit those panels with the bumper black.

pics to come...

Slowly repainting parts.... Stripping again!

Original side-skirt hit it with propane went black, then hit it with 220 wet and the followed up with 400 wet. Will probably just hit this panel up with the bumper paint.

panel preped with gray scotchbrite pad, and soappy water. Then i used denatured alcohol to make sure the panel was free of grit and grime

Need to get the seat redone more photos soon. Trying to get the bike to idle again. Possibly something got clogged in the carb again, possibly from the gas tank, which i cleaned out as best as possible.

dem0nk1d wrote::surprise: California DMV and their process of pawning old fee's to the new buyer is BS. I just found out the Elite has over 500$ in back fees! Wow was a * yesterday about this. So this means at 8am this morning i will be calling the DMV and see if i can work something out over the phone. Then i might be standing inline after work again. :bs:
Hi D. that's not bs. that sounds more like a officially certified Nigerian scam :jack:

Thanks gents for all the kind ideas. I got the original owner to sign a paper of non-op from 2002 to the present and they dropped all the penalties. I only have to pay a total of 201.00 which was more than fine with me. The 201 was back registration, new owner transfer and to put it into non-op. So i can get it built for the wife. All she needs now is the m1, to ride!!!

All done with work tonight, this is how she sits. Any thoughts or recommendation with aftermarket seat covers? I was quoted 120 to get it recovered with black marine grade vinyl red base ball stitching, and diamond stitched top.
