I got a call finally from my friend in Japan that made his roadfox go 45mp/h (72km/h). He told me that after having a small amount of machine work done on the cases, you can use many of the spree and dio kits. As for the exhaust port, he said to cut and weld for best fit.
Larger carb and correct fuel mixture is crucial for stock. When he used honda synthetic 2 stroke oil and made sure the opening was not clogged. It was a easy way to get above 33mph.
Going to send me all the details when he goes home this weekend and looks it over =)

Do some machining, put a 72cc kit on it. find a bigger intake for a bigger carb. Build a pipe.

Thats what I was thinking. Will the factory clutches be able to handle it though?

Hey - Dio! Don't have a cyl, but I think the exhaust port is better oriented for a Gyro. Don't know about the cyl bolt spacing - anyone here put Dio cyls in pre-94 Elites and Aeros?
Sorry for the delay, had to root around for the parts in the pics.
Gyro head is perfect fit for the Aero cyl.
Exhaust port has just a little interference with the case bolt boss on the left side case. Hard to see, but the cyl doesn't sit flush. Might take just minor grinding to fix. Some of the left case could also be modified for exhaust pipe clearance. Its clear of the flywheel/fan, just gets into some of the cooling air duct space.
Pic to show what an exhaust pipe cutaway could intrude on
But on the right case half, the cyl sits flush
P.S. - Never heard about '85's being faster than '86. I have a Black one too, and its not really different from the Reds.

Not sure about mine then. I did go to pre-mix at 20:1 with Honda Synthetic 2 stroke. It sure does make the top end more peppy.
I took a day off work and thinking and had some fun; Me and the girl took the gyro's into the snow and ripped it up, some fun ice sliding and circle tracking... never forget it! I'll get the video camera setup if we do another run =)
Also made a igloo.
mousewheels- Would you be interested in some japanese performance parts? Might be able to get some pipes and cylinders, not too sure yet.
Also... might be able to get parts
Thanks for the pics of the parts. What aero is that off of? A 80 or 50?

Do the transfers line up or will it need to be port matched?

I'll give premix and up the tire psi this spring. Brr! its cold out, but you tearing up on the ice was no doubt fun. Do get some videos!

Yeah sure! Thanks for asking

Cyl is an '87 Aero 50 = part number 12101-GN2-030. The -030 is slight oversize 'CYLINDER A (0/+0.005)'. You can see the 'A' stamp on in the pic.
Do the transfers line up or will it need to be port matched?
Side by side they look close. I took identical size pics and made a composite so all can see.

Dac -- Oh, there's an idea, never thought to look at the non-forced air cooled cyls. Ex port is closer -- Thanks!
